Is Your Art Portfolio A Turkey?

Before you celebrate Thanksgiving Day with your family, take time to read this post on how to make an art portfolio that will get you into arts college.

This is the time of the year when Canadians give thanks to their forefathers. While looking for the Northwest passage to the Orient from his 1578 voyage, English explorer Martin Frobisher encountered a piece of land that soon to become known as Canada. Since becoming a national holiday in 1879, Thanksgiving Day in Canada is celebrated on the second Monday of October (save for some states). The celebration lets families gather together in one home and partake in a feast that consists of mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and, most importantly, turkey.

For high school seniors, this also marks the time of being thankful for the opportunity of attending a good school to help you prepare for college, preferably in the art or design program. It is now just a matter of making it happen by getting good grades and creating an art portfolio.

Speaking of art portfolio, have you already started making yours? Have you done artworks throughout the years and compiled your best works all together before submitting it to colleges?
